The CEL Alumni Association is upgrading its website. The last major upgrade was several years ago and in addition to requests for new features, there have been enough advances to web style and development technology to warrant a new look-and-feel.

A Request for Proposals (RFP) to qualified alumni has just been released, and is included as a downloadable file below. If you are interested, be sure to read the Qualifications section; you should have significant web development experience and it should be your primary service offering.

Proposals are due February 24, 2012.

The primary features that were deemed absolutely necessary include:

  • Robust Event Registration, including a calendar of events. As the number of CELAA’s supported events have grown, so has the complexity of event registration.
  • Online Payment Processing. The current website already takes credit cards and we want to continue being able to do this.
  • Content Management System. The CEL office (Tom, Linda, Janine) have to be able to easily add or remove content. CELAA members need to be able to easily update their biographies and submit articles for inclusion on the website.
  • Member Directory, with the ability to search through, sort and categorize our list of over 700 alumni.
  • Membership Registration and Renewal.

Desired secondary features include Google Analytics, News Management, Opt in/Opt out capability, Featured Items, Social Media Integration, a Photo Gallery and several other items, which are spelled out in the RFP document.

View the CELAA Website Official Request For Proposal 2012.

Again, please submit all proposals by February 24th.

“The recent arrival of snow means many workers who enjoy outdoor exercise will be on hiatus until spring. But that shouldn’t mean there’s no opportunity to work out. Whether you have a gym membership or just a small space next to your desk in the office, there’s a way to get in shape, says Joe Fox, owner of TrainSmart Personal Fitness in Buffalo.”

Andy Archer (CEL 2009) had one of those memorable days when he sunk a hole in one on the money hole at this year’s CELAA golf tournament, held this past Monday at Brookfield Country Club in Clarence.

He’s very happy.
